BRACK: Transit approval could mean more buses, routes and frequency soon

By Elliott Brack | If more transit options are approved in Gwinnett on March 19, what you will see soon in Gwinnett will be more buses, more routes and more frequency of bus service. All will be a major improvement in public transit in the county.

We talked with Karen Winger, head of the Transit Division of the Gwinnett Department of Transportation, to understand these expanded local bus routes.

BRACK: Encourage others to talk up and support March 19 MARTA vote

By Elliott Brack  |  Many people in Gwinnett are astounded that the county is approaching having a population of a million people. The estimated current population is 950,000. They are astounded, that is, in one way.

When you live and pretty much stay in one area of the county, and don’t get out of that area much, you know the streets are usually crowded. But it doesn’t seem like there are about a million people around you.

BRACK: MARTA referendum may be most important ever in Gwinnett

By Elliott Brack | JAN. 15, 2019  |  The March 19, 2019 referendum concerning Gwinnett County becoming a partner the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit System (MARTA) may be the most important election that Gwinnett has ever had.

It will show if Gwinnett County is ready to adapt the modern conveniences of the future, or is stuck in the mud in antiquated transportation systems.

By Elliott Brack  | Competitive election races may stir interest in politics, but you can also bet that it can also turn off people — with the continued barrage of political advertising, some of it hard-hitting. They may end up voting while pinching their nose.

BRACK: May Gwinnettians have big turnout in the runoff election on Tuesday

By Elliott Brack | Next Tuesday, July 24, Gwinnett and Georgia voters will return to the polls for runoff primaries of the two major political parties and in non-partisan races. Runoffs are required under current voting rules when no candidate wins 50 percent of the vote, plus one, that is, a majority of the votes cast.

We urge Gwinnett residents, if you have not early voted, to return to the polls on Tuesday and select your candidate in the runoff.  Here’s why….
