BRACK: Georgia’s impact on presidential race getting less likely

BRACK: Georgia’s impact on presidential race getting less likely

By Elliott Brack  | Watching the Democrats wrangle for the nomination for president is much like watching a sporting event. Except that is long and drawn out, not so much like a fast-paced basketball game as it is an ever-so-boring, several-day cricket match. Add to this that the political commentators have a field day of putting out new views daily based on the sketchiest of information, the little matters that doesn’t amount to much.

BRACK: Florida’s Aug. 28 primary progressing similarly to Georgia’s

BRACK: Florida’s Aug. 28 primary progressing similarly to Georgia’s

AUG. 10, 2018  |  The primary in the state of Florida will be held August 28. A situation there has developed similarly to what happened in Georgia.

Republican Adam Putnam, the state agricultural commissioner for eight years, announced early that he would run for governor, and was the odds-on early favorite and establishment candidate, it appeared.

BRACK: Looking at the primary results and thoughts on the governor’s race

MAY 25, 2018  |  It’s been quite intoxicating for me as several readers questioned why GwinnettForum did not give some facts and guidance on the races for governor in the primaries.

One person said: “You told us of your choices for every race around except the governor. And we don’t have on your site any information from the gubernatorial candidates. Why is that?”

BRACK: First time since 1984, more Democratic votes in Gwinnett than GOP

MAY 25, 2018  |  For 34 years, Gwinnett has been a largely Republican County. However, judging from the turnout in the 2018 primary, the county may be moving toward more Democrats in office.

Not only that, remember that in the 2014 presidential election, Gwinnett went for Hillary Clinton, as 166,153 votes went to Ms. Clinton and 146,989 voted for President Trump.

BRACK: The 2018 primary candidates come from many states, countries

APRIL 24, 2018  |  Come next Tuesday, May 1, GwinnettForum will focus the entire issue on the 2018 primary election.

There will be two parts to that issue. First, will be GwinnettForum’s endorsements of candidates for state and local candidates in the primary. We will endorse in all races that are contested if we have talked to at least one of the candidates.  So far we have talked this season to 66 candidates in this primary season.
