NEWS BRIEFS: Commissioners adopt same millage rate for 2022

The Gwinnett Board of Commissioners have adopted the same general fund millage rate as last year, 6.95 mills.  Prior to the vote, the Board held three public hearings and accepted comments through the County’s website.

Gwinnett Senior Leadership is returning after an absence of two years. The program offers people aged 50 and older an opportunity to interact with other leaders across the county, to understand what is happening in Gwinnett County, and to apply what they learn in finding ways to make the county a better place to live. Classes are limited to 30 members each year.

FOCUS: Peach State FCU to award over $161,000 in scholarships, grants

By Heather Griffin, Lawrenceville, Ga. — Peach State Federal Credit Union is currently accepting applications for its 2017 scholarship program, which will award more than $161,000 in scholarships and educational grants. The program was established to honor the credit union’s founders, past and present board members and employees, as well as the lifetime achievements of several notable school system and community leaders.
