ANOTHER VIEW: On the problems retaining doctors

By Jeff Gorke |  This is written in response to Jack Bernard’s Sept. 27, 2024 perspective, “Full Medicaid Expansion.” I appreciate Jack addressing a confounding issue that has plagued the United States since employer-sponsored healthcare began. He makes some good points. But as someone who’s worked in healthcare for more than 30 years, the remedies suggested don’t cure what ails us.

ANOTHER VIEW: The border is closed, or is it really?

By Jeff Gorke | Re: Jeff Ploussard’s recent missive apropos the “myths” about immigration, let’s start here: There is an invasion at our southern border. It’s factual and provable, irrespective of what you “name” it (semantically).

ANOTHER VIEW: Examining fascism from another angle

ANOTHER VIEW: Examining fascism from another angle

By Jeff Gorke  |  Late last week I began to respond to Ashley Herndon’s tome in the July 9 GwinnettForum, “Explaining how fascism helps confuse today’s argument.” (As any reasonable person might do, I preamble by stipulating Trump is a bit of a hyperbolic loose cannon, lest the discussion get clouded.)

FOCUS: Recent comment suggests Banana Republic elements

FOCUS: Suwanee resident reacts to what Bernard says

By Jeff Gorke  |  It’s always fun to read Jack Bernard’s missives. They tend to be short on data, long on aspersions while often slamming 50 percent of the population for being mindless rubes. Understand, I’m no Trump supporter, but he isn’t one of the Riders of the Apocalypse, either.
