By Jack Bernard | The Senate currently has 49 Republicans, 49 Democrats and two independents who caucus with the Democrats (Senators Angus King and Bernie Sanders). All the GOP needs is to win one race to tie the Senate, or  two flips of seats to give the Republicans control of the Senate.

By Jack Bernard  |  Only one president in recent years accomplished the goal of balancing the budget. That was Bill Clinton. He had budget surpluses for fiscal years 1998–2001, the only such years from 1970 to 2023. Donald Trump’s record from 2017-2020 conclusively illustrates the fact that he supported excessive spending.

 By Jack Bernard  |  Mental health is only one factor in school shootings. If the United States had implemented gun control, there would be virtually no school shootings. Nevertheless, mental health is an important aspect that must be addressed.
