NEWS BRIEFS: Ribbon-cutting Friday kicks off Norcross Microtransit 

A microtransit pilot program will begin in the Norcross area on Monday. On Friday, September 6,  a ribbon cutting at 10 a.m. at the Norcross Public Library will celebrate the launching of the program. The library is located at 5735 Buford Highway.

NEWS BRIEFS: Gwinnett Police get new ordinance to address drag racing

Gwinnett Commissioners have approved a new ordinance that addresses drag racing on Gwinnett County streets. The ordinance allows Gwinnett Police to impound vehicles involved in street racing for up to a month. State law does not address impounding – only fines.

BRACK: New book sheds light on horrific murders of 3 Gwinnett policemen

By Elliott Brack | It is one of the darkest moments in Gwinnett history. Three Gwinnett County policemen were gunned down with their own weapons and left handcuffed together and found the morning of April 17, 1964, just off Beaver Ruin Road. As a result, Gwinnett got the reputation as an unsafe, lawless and backward county.
