BRACK: Next County Commission chair won’t be Gwinnett native

By Elliott Brack  |  Politics are changing in Gwinnett. The next chairman of the Gwinnett County Commission will not be born and raised in Harbins, Pinckneyville, Buford, Lawrenceville or Snellville. The next chairman will either be a native of Providence, R.I, Akron, Ohio, or possibly even Jamaica.

BRACK: Delegation: Bring commission chairman’s salary up-to-date

By Elliott Brack  | There is one key subject the Gwinnett delegation to the General Assembly should address come January 1.  They need to agree on a significant upgrade of pay for the chairman of the Gwinnett County Commission.
The current salary of the chairman, Charlotte Nash, is $58,342. That salary should have been changed ages ago. It is inadequate for a person who heads a government with 5,000 employees.

Then with the beginning of growth of Atlanta, Gwinnett began to see its own growth, though early on it was incidental, not wide open as it became later.

BRACK: Chairman Nash challenges Gwinnett to keep moving forward

By Elliott Brack | Gwinnett County Commission Chairman Charlotte Nash was something of an evangelist when she gave her fifth annual “state of the county” address to the Gwinnett Chamber recently. In effect, she offered an “altar call” for the people of Gwinnett County to step up and join with her and the county commission to make sure the county reaches its potential.
