By Elliott Brack  |  Today let’s review the 2022 primary.  First, let us thank the candidates, the winners and losers, for we cannot vote in our democracy without candidates. They allow it to work.

The most satisfying and surprising turn of this primary was that Lisamarie Bristol ousted Solicitor General Bryan Whiteside, and by a good margin.

BRACK: Though a year away, 2022 political season has begun

By Elliott Brack |  Though we are a year away, the 2022 political season saw its practical start when Gov. Brian Kemp put forth recently he would seek an endorsement term as the state’s chief executive officer. So for the next 12 months, watch out: political blowhards will be busy positioning themselves to look as good as they can at all times to the voters. Just remember: what you see in them may not be what you’ll get.

BRACK: Recall elections: a safeguard that is difficult to pull off

By Elliott Brack  |  The Constitution of the State of Georgia has certain provisions in it that give protection to those of us who elect public officials. When someone is elected to office, but begins to stir trouble, or acts untoward in that office, the Constitution says that these people may be voted out of office through a “recall” election.
