BRACK: Exciting activities in Gwinnett cities with envisioning leaders

By Elliott Brack, editor and publisher | One of the bright areas in Gwinnett in 2017 is the tremendous vision, funding and activity going on in some of our cities.

Partially funded by the cities of Gwinnett’s greater share of SPLOST funds, but augmented by growth in city revenues, there is a feeling of bustle and movement in some of Gwinnett’s cities that is nothing less than exciting.

BRACK: Enterprising Buford resident produces cookie kit for youngsters

By Elliott Brack, editor and publisher | A resident of Buford has launched her own business — producing a Cookie Chemistry Lab for children eight and older. It’s already in several stores, and online, all aimed at children during the Christmas season.

The young lady, Crystal Felton, age 30, is hoping that this initial effort at selling her own product will allow her to develop new ideas….and not saying what they are, she has several in mind. She’s a budding entrepreneur, and has the confidence to become successful. Her business is named Epiphany of Chemistry, LLC.

BRACK: By the end of 2015, the City of Rest Haven may be no more

By Elliott Brack, editor and publisher | By the end of 2015, Rest Haven Mayor Kenneth Waycaster may no longer have the town’s top job. In reality, no one will, for by then, there may no longer be any residents of Rest Haven. They will be residing instead, by design, in Buford. Not one resident will be left to run the city.

FOCUS: Regional Commission makes awards to two Gwinnett cities

By Jim Jaquish | ATLANTA, Ga. — The Atlanta Regional Commission (ARC) has awarded $800,000 in its latest round of Livable Centers Initiative (LCI) grants to two Gwinnett County cities, and six other communities. The LCI grants will help these communities create new plans for quality growth and help develop innovative policies that support more vibrant, connected communities. Once their studies and plans are complete, these communities will be eligible for additional LCI funding for transportation projects needed to implement their plans.
