Duluth Fall Festival has again come and gone. The weather was great – 100 percent better than we had thought it would be!  Hints of showers only served to keep it cool.  Because of months of work by the volunteers, this was among the very best Festivals in 41 year history, a resounding success!  

Co-chairs Chris McGahee and Alana Moss both live in downtown Duluth. Chris is with the City of Duluth as head of economic development.  Alana has been a leader for the Festival for many years and has served as overall chair several times.  Chris and Alana did a fantastic job, and have been asked to chair it again in 2025, and they have agreed. Money raised goes to the beautification and betterment of Downtown Duluth and local non-profits.  

We are thankful for the 300 volunteers, 100+ sponsors, the faithful vendors, tens of thousands of attendees, and the City of Duluth.  It takes all of these to make our annual Duluth Fall  Festival the great success it has become!  So, put the 42nd Duluth Fall Festival on your calendars now for Saturday and Sunday, September 27-28, 2025.  We look forward to seeing you then.  Before that, visit downtown Duluth, and see the wonderful transformation that Duluth Fall Festival has helped to create!

Residents of the new city of Mulberry can read answers to questions put to the 15 candidates for the coming council elections through a public service offered by GwinnettForum.

Gwinnett Forum publisher Elliott Brack suggests that Gwinnett County needs a long-range list of continuing objectives for improving the county. His list:

1. Move statewide non-partisan judge and school board elections to the General Election.
2. Adoption of the 2023 Transit Plan for Gwinnett.
3. More creative efforts to support the arts in Gwinnett.  
4. Advancement and expansion of city historical societies.
5. Require establishments that serve alcoholic beverages to halt sales of such products at 1     a.m., and close by 2 a.m.
6. Require the Georgia Legislature to meet only once every two years.
7. 21st  century salary for the Gwinnett County Commission members.
8. Remove chewing gum on sidewalks at entrances of post offices and other governmental buildings.
9. Eliminate single-use plastic packaging and straws in Gwinnett and require instead the use of paper products.
10. Condos instead of apartments for Gwinnett.
