ANOTHER VIEW: Afghanistan was a mess for the USA from the start

By Jack Bernard  |  Recently “America and the Taliban” appeared on PBS’ Frontline Report.  Marine Seth Sharp was shown, shot in the neck and killed during Afghanistan counterinsurgency efforts. He was a 20-year-old from Bartow County, Ga., where I went to high school and my youngest brother was born.

BRACK: Thank you, Mr. President, for getting our troops out of Afghanistan

SEPT. 3, 2021  |  Thank you, President Biden. Thank you for taking the bold steps in leadership in getting out the last of our military troops entirely out of Afghanistan by your own August 31 deadline. You did what three other presidents did not or would not do. You also completed this evacuation in the face of unwarranted criticism of your actions.

BRACK: Hurrah! We’re leaving Afghanistan; we should have done it years ago

By Elliott Brack  |  It’s beyond me why some in our country are so concerned about what’s happening in Afghanistan. Not only should our country leave Afghanistan as fast as we can, for the real problem is that we should never have sent American troops to that country halfway around the world in the first place. Fighting against the natives there is a zealous guerilla war. There was no way a visitor could “win.”

BRACK: Pulling American troops out of Afghanistan

By Elliott Brack  |  About our American troops in Afghanistan, President Biden cannot pull our troops out of there fast enough for me. Our country should have never been deployed sending American troops to that part of the world.
