Daniel (Gil) Holmes

Daniel Gilbert Holmes, 48, departed peacefully of natural causes on January 28, 2024.  He was preceded in death by his father, Offie, and survived by his mother, Martha, and his brother, Travis Reynolds Holmes.

By Elliott Brack | For a few nights recently, when visiting our daughter in Durham, N.C., I slept under a quilt that my Mother had made for her granddaughter. It was a beautiful hand-stitched quilt, made painstakingly on a quilting frame.

NEWS BRIEFS: Bill creating the City of Mulberry goes to governor

The possibility of establishing the City of Mulberry in Gwinnett County hurdled another step last week as the Georgia Legislature sent a bill creating the city to Gov. Brian Kemp. Once signed by the governor, and if approved by voters, it would become the 17th city in Gwinnett.
