FOCUS: Searching the Internet provides good value for trip to India
By Frank Sharp | My wife, Pearl, and I had always wanted to take a trip to India. Fortunately, Pearl found a Cyber Monday package deal from Friendly Planet tour which included the airplane ticket on Air India from JFK to New Delhi for about $1,500. Normally, the plane ticket itself would be about that much. This price included all hotels and meals, except lunch, and all ground transportation. Wow. We scooped it up.
We came to New York a day early. After touring New York City, we caught the Air India direct non-stop flight from JFK to New Delhi. It was packed. After 12 hours, we finally landed. The food served onboard was good and the flight was smooth.

JULY 6, 2016 | Following the radical Islamist attack on a nightclub in Orlando that killed 49 people, I wondered how the president might respond. He answered in typical fashion, switching the subject from terrorism to gun control. Forget the fact that not a single shot was fired on 9/11 when some 3,000 Americans died.

Continuing objectives
Gwinnett Forum publisher Elliott Brack suggests Gwinnett County needs a long-range list of continuing objectives for improving the county. His 2025 list:
- Move statewide non-partisan judicial and school board elections to the date of the General Election.
- More creative efforts to support the arts in Gwinnett.
- Advancement and expansion of city historical societies.
- Require establishments that serve alcoholic beverages to halt sales of such products at 1 a.m., and close by 2 a.m.
- Require the Georgia Legislature to meet only once every two years.
- Eliminate single-use plastic packaging and straws in Gwinnett and require instead the use of paper products.
- Gwinnett planners to encourage condos and townhouses instead of apartments.
