NEWS BRIEFS: Local DAR sponsors Wreaths Across America Day
More than two million volunteers and supporters gather each year to honor our veterans buried at cemeteries nationwide and abroad on National Wreaths Across America Day. Wreaths Across America, a 501c3 organization headquartered in Maine, has over 4,600 participating locations with the mission to “remember the fallen, honor those who serve, and teach the next generation the value of freedom.”
NEWS BRIEFS: Suwanee wins 2nd annual food fight vs. Sugar Hill
The City of Suwanee has emerged victorious over Sugar Hill in the second annual friendly “Community Food Fight.” This friendly competition pits the two cities against each other to see who can gather the most donations to support the North Gwinnett Co-Op, which provides vital services to the communities of Suwanee, Sugar Hill, and Buford.

NEWS BRIEFS: Beebe, Clegg photos on exhibit at museum in Duluth
The Southeastern Railway Museum (SRM) in Duluth is hosting a new exhibit, Beebe and Clegg: Their Enduring Photographic Legacy, through December 31. Fans of their classic and stunning work can enjoy the exhibit and the museum Thursday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sundays from noon to 5 p.m. at the museum, 3595 Buford Highway near downtown Duluth.

Continuing objectives
Gwinnett Forum publisher Elliott Brack suggests Gwinnett County needs a long-range list of continuing objectives for improving the county. His 2025 list:
- Move statewide non-partisan judicial and school board elections to the date of the General Election.
- More creative efforts to support the arts in Gwinnett.
- Advancement and expansion of city historical societies.
- Require establishments that serve alcoholic beverages to halt sales of such products at 1 a.m., and close by 2 a.m.
- Require the Georgia Legislature to meet only once every two years.
- Eliminate single-use plastic packaging and straws in Gwinnett and require instead the use of paper products.
- Gwinnett planners to encourage condos and townhouses instead of apartments.
- County-wide microtransit services.
