NEWS BRIEFS: Passports now available at office of clerk of courts at GJAC

Gwinnett County Clerk of Court Tiana Garner is opening a new passport acceptance office at the Gwinnett Justice and Administration Center (GJAC). Passport services are now available at the office of the Clerk of Court. Residents can now apply for a passport by visiting the office from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday, with no appointment necessary. Passport photo services are also available for a fee.

The Gwinnett County Commissioners last week awarded E.R. Snell Contractor, Inc., a contract for more than $28 million to resurface county roads. The Georgia Department of Transportation will fund a quarter of the contract cost.

NEWS BRIEFS: PCOM established medical education Center for Excellence

With a nine-fold mission statement, Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine has established a Medical Education Center of Excellence, under the direction of Dr. Art Sesso, senior associate dean and chair of the Department of Surgery.  According to Dr. Sesso, the center, which is the first in the nation, “strengthens the college’s ability to prepare the next generation of osteopathic physicians.”
