NEWS BRIEFS: PCOM to graduate 75 new master’s degree holders 

On Tuesday, July 26 at 11 a.m. 75 master’s degree students will graduate from PCOM Georgia, a health sciences university in Suwanee, at the Gas South District in Duluth. The graduates include 45 biomedical sciences students and 30 physician assistant students.

Georgia Banking Company, Inc. (“GBC”) and Peoples BankTrust, Inc.(“Peoples”) have jointly announced a mutual agreement to terminate their merger agreement, previously announced on November 10, 2021. At that time, it was thought that  Peoples would merge into GBC in a cash and stock transaction with an aggregate value of approximately $58 million.

NEWS BRIEFS: High schoolers participate in PCOM anatomy lesson 

As if in unison, “Ahhh!” could be heard emanating from a worktable in the PCOM Georgia Anatomy Lab as four Gwinnett high school students dissected sheep brains under the guidance of a PCOM Georgia faculty member. They had just learned that the “pons,” shaped like a peanut, is part of the brain stem.
