FOCUS: Gwinnett sues to stop Mulberry; High court won’t halt election

Gwinnett County this week sued the state of Georgia and three state legislators in an effort to stop the recently ratified city of Mulberry, which was approved by 57 percent of Mulberry voters earlier this year. … Meanwhile late Monday – to add to the complexity of the situation – the Georgia Supreme Court said won’t hear a separate Mulberry challenge.

FOCUS: County buys 26 more acres at Gwinnett Place 

By Brian Brodrick  |  The Gwinnett County commissioners this week approved the Urban Redevelopment Agency of Gwinnett County’s purchase of the Macy’s sites at Gwinnett Place Mall, totaling 23 acres, for $16.5 million. The board also approved the issuance of bonds to fund the purchase through its Urban Redevelopment Agency. This is the next step in the redevelopment of the mall area.
