FOCUS: In era of NRA influence, mass killings continue in USA

By Raleigh Perry  |  The Gun Violence Archive counted 648 mass shootings in 2022 in our country. In 2023, mass killings began with at least 36 dead in January. This is ridiculous and could be cut way down with national controls on guns.

By Jo Ann Nelson  |  It hit me when in Australia that I only had two more continents to go:  South America and Antarctica.  This was in 2019. So, I signed up to fly to Argentina, and boarded a Viking ship to Antarctica.

By Ashley Herndon  |  I just have to share some good fortune, having been blessed twice in 1964 and again in 1967-68. I was surprised to be introduced to and met a gentleman of grace and  power.

FOCUS: Sometimes, travel by air can be delayed … and frustrating

By Karen Harris  |  Before I started my holiday vacation to Dayton, Ohio, I asked God to stretch my heart. I wanted to have a beautiful and authentic time with my sisters, mother and dad, even though dramatic moments typically can come out at holiday time.

FOCUS: When GwinnettForum has a story on guns, you can bet on letters

One reason we print GwinnettForum is to have it available for all to respond to current topics, such as these below. We thank them for joining others who submit. Without you readers, life would not be so much fun. One aspect we require of submissions: to get printed, we require readers to list the name of the city where they get mail. This issue we had four more letters to the editor without a home town listing

FOCUS: Peachtree Corners Council considering hiring a city marshal

By Alex Wright, city councilman  |  Since its incorporation in 2012, the City of Peachtree Corners has provided police services to its citizens through an intergovernmental agreement (IGA) with Gwinnett County.  The city and its citizens have mostly been pleased with the level of service provided by the Gwinnett County Police Department (GCPD), but a level of change may be on the horizon for community safety in Peachtree Corners.
