The underdog Georgia Bulldogs’ quarterback played a superb game in the Orange Bowl against the Big Ten’s Michigan. Bennett and his cohorts thoroughly dominated the once mighty Spartans, who came into the game with just one loss, and was ranked No. 2 by the pollsters, just ahead of Georgia.

Churches that devote a night to singing Christmas carols are always popular. Churches will benefit if they devote an entire night’s service to congregational singing of Christmas carols.

It was the first Friday night in September with me just starting to work on The Macon Telegraph, the morning newspaper. Previously I had been on the afternoon paper, and moved to the a.m. paper on Labor Day.

It was about 6:15 p.m. when I turned on Holcomb Bridge Road, heading west, with little traffic in this lane. However, oncoming easterly traffic was unusually heavy. By then, it was fully dark, as we were back to standard time.
By Elliott Brack | Norcross and Buford residents enjoy a special “Cadillac service” three months out of the year. These two cities send around a truck to vacuum up leaves raked to the curb. No other Gwinnett homeowners enjoy such a service. The different county waste haulers require homeowners in other areas to bag their leaves before pick up.

The family-friendly event, Duluth Fall Festival, will take place on September 28-29. This is the 41st year, and the Festival has consistently been voted one of the top festivals in the entire area, including “Best Large Festival in the Southeast’” by national publications.
