BRACK: Clinicians, police have successful intervention program

By Elliott Brack  |  A public health program with a 98 percent success rate that began in Conyers has been expanded to Gwinnett County and beyond. The counties forming Gwinnett Newton Rockdale Public Health Department, working with View Point Health of Lawrenceville, originally started the program with the Conyers Police Department.

BRACK: Here’s another way the progress of justice is being slowed

By Elliott Brack  |  Backers of former President Donald Trump would like to see him exonerated and returned to office. Those who see danger in Mr. Trump want to see him come before a tribunal and face the music for his misdeeds.

BRACK: Do your duty, commissioners: Revalue all real property

BRACK: Do your duty, commissioners: Revalue all real property

By Elliott Brack   |  Gwinnett County Commissioners can avoid raising taxes in future years, even with a growing budget, if they will take a step now to ensure fairness among the county taxpayers. That’s because real property owners of Gwinnett are being reassessed this year, meaning most everyone will soon see an increase in their taxes. Property tax notices went out last week, but that tax was based on the previous year’s assessments.

BRACK: Wheels of justice eventually move, but usually ever so slow

By Elliott Brack  |  The wheels of progress sometimes turn mighty slowly. Yet every now and then, the wheel moves a little so that when changes arrive, it sometimes surprises us. Earlier this year, the Supreme Court restricted the ability of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) ruling  to regulate climate change.  That thwarted the Biden Administration. But help was soon to be on the way.

BRACK: GOP and Dem incumbents use power, gain big advantages

By Elliott Brack2  |  Call it government, call it politics, we know the incumbent has some power.  Recently we noted the power of a sitting governor when in an election campaign.  With Gov. Brian Kemp being challenged by Stacey Abrams, the governor is pulling out all the stops.

BRACK: Governor’s race may go down to the wire…until Dec. 6

By Elliott Brack |  Cogitating today on the race for governor in less than three months: it appears that the race will be close. When Brian Kemp first went into office four years ago, some thought that he would serve for only one term, since his Democratic challenger, Stacey Abrams, had run a close race, would probably be more powerful in 2022, and clip his wings.  Meanwhile,

BRACK: Gwinnett needs someone to step up and be Weather Keeper

By Elliott Brack  |  Something is missing in Gwinnett. One person could step up to the plate and provide this service and be considerable help to all of us.  Gwinnett does not have an official station for recording the weather.

BRACK: Polish remover part of new check-theft scam at post offices

By Elliott Brack |  Something’s going on at the Post Office that belies understanding.  The bad part is that postal officials haven’t responded to numerous requests for information on this. That looks bad. It’s something that is going on nationwide.  It’s a scam involving a person writing a check routinely and dropping the check into the mail to pay a bill.  Somehow, scammers find a way to intercept the check.
