ANOTHER VIEW: Update on Olympic Stadium area near Mountain Park

By Sheri Clark  |  The latest progress on the Olympic Tennis Center Development  comes straight from Commissioner Ben Ku via a Facebook post: “The Commissioner’s actions have been tabled to our August 22 meeting as Fuqua Development is making several reconfigurations to the plan in response to the feedback from the planning commission and myself.”  This is good news for the Mountain Park community and surrounding areas!

ANOTHER STORY: Reconstructed Rogers Bridge opened after 15 years

By Talore Ruedt  |  Rogers Bridge over the Chattahoochee River between Duluth and Johns Creek is now open, after a ribbon cutting last week. The pedestrian bridge connects Duluth’s Rogers Bridge Park to Johns Creek’s Cauley Creek Park. The work was done by the two cities, in partnership with Gwinnett and Fulton counties.

He was a 20-year-old from Bartow County, Ga., where I went to high school and my youngest brother was born.

By Kate Pittman  |  Rumor has it Costco is interested in building a third store in Gwinnett.  The understanding is that it is considering the site of the 1996 Olympic tennis courts, located off U.S. Highway 78, in the shadow of Stone Mountain.  Before readers get excited about another Costco, there is much the community and Board of Commissioners need to consider. There are tradeoffs, especially in long-term planning and quality of life.
