ANOTHER VIEW: Businessman wants Park Place area developed better

By Vipul Patel | Here are my ideas concerning the redevelopment of the Stone Mountain Tennis Center site. At the Park Place Boulevard exit, I own and manage three hotels: Country Inn and Suites, Holiday Inn Express and Days Inn.  I not only work there but I live in Lilburn, less than two miles from the development.  I work, live, shop, play and pray in this area.

ANOTHER VIEW: Couple on a roll, having visited 20 of 30 Major League parks

By Taylor Walker |  This was never really something we intended to do, or had even talked about.  It started 10 years ago when my wife and I were in California to see my sister in Lake Tahoe.

ANOTHER VIEW: “Defund the FBI” statements are hurting the GOP

By Jack Bernard, contributing columnist   |  I’m an anomaly. I’m a social progressive who comes from a law enforcement family. My favorite uncle was a Lieutenant with the New York Police Department who ran a precinct in Brooklyn. My closest cousin is a retired prison guard. Another close first cousin retired from the Federal Bureau of Investigation. And I believe that the law enforcement occupation deserves our respect.

ANOTHER VIEW: Home of Hope provides safe haven for those homeless

By Heather Loveridge  |  It all started with a PTA meeting. In the early 1980’s three concerned PTA mothers – Barb Lewis, Joanne Culvern, and Sharry Hague – saw firsthand the homelessness crisis for children in Gwinnett. Rather than waiting for someone else to tackle this issue, these moms single handedly raised $2.5 million to support children facing homelessness in their area.

ANOTHER VIEW: Garland needs to move quicker on Committee’s evidence

By Jack Bernard, contributing columnist |  Mr. Trump and I do not agree on much. But we do totally agree that the House Select Committee is intent on seeing him not run again. For good reason, I might add.

ANOTHER VIEW: Greene is snookering the Democrats

ANOTHER VIEW: Greene is snookering the Democrats

By Jack Bernard | When I was in high school, my father moved my family to a small North Georgia town. I had little to do, so I hung out at the local pool halls with the good old boys. Sometimes, an out-of-town foolish braggart would come in, bet big on a game of pool and be taken to the cleaners by a local pool shark. The guys would just laugh at him and say he had been “snookered.”

ANOTHER VIEW: Dozen people enjoy church “pilgrimage” to Ireland

By Karen Bass  |  “Pilgrimage” takes on a variety of meanings for folks, but in general it involves a journey far from home and seeking spiritual insight.  The youth of Christ Church Episcopal in Norcross have taken several such journeys, primarily to sites of ancient Celtic Christianity in England, Scotland, and Ireland.
