By Elliott Brack | With all the leaks about upcoming cases out of the U.S. Supreme Court, it’s not beyond reason that another disclosure of inside information could come out of the court.
By Elliott Brack | Watching presidential debates is not high on my agenda. Most years, these debates do little for real news, and serve mostly as arguments between the vying candidates. But for 2024, I sat for nearly two hours and listened to Donald Trump and Joe Biden.
By Elliott Brack | It’s discouraging, and we hate to bring it up, but Gwinnettians do not take voting very seriously, at least in the recent primary and its runoff. We make this deduction after looking at how many people voted in these 2024 elections.
By Elliott Brack | A Gwinnett resident has been named to a three year term on the Georgia Trust for Historic Preservation Board of Trustees. He is Jeff Hopper of Norcross, who has been a member for 12 years, and has served on the board previously.
By Elliott Brack | Here’s something different today. Let’s go back in time with Mark Twain, and one of our all-time favorite books. What’s Mark Twain’s bestselling book? You might be surprised. It’s not Tom Sawyer or Huckleberry Finn.
By Elliott Brack | There’s a new book out from a Gwinnett native and retired middle school math teacher who remembers wonderful stories of growing up in Norcross in the 1960’s and 1970’s. Early into the book, you’ll be smiling as you read it.

Continuing objectives
Gwinnett Forum publisher Elliott Brack suggests Gwinnett County needs a long-range list of continuing objectives for improving the county. His 2025 list:
Move statewide non-partisan judicial and school board elections to the date of the General Election.
More creative efforts to support the arts in Gwinnett.
Advancement and expansion of city historical societies.
Require establishments that serve alcoholic beverages to halt sales of such products at 1 a.m., and close by 2 a.m.
Require the Georgia Legislature to meet only once every two years.
Eliminate single-use plastic packaging and straws in Gwinnett and require instead the use of paper products.
Gwinnett planners to encourage condos and townhouses instead of apartments.
County-wide microtransit services.
