FOCUS: Expensive Plant Vogtle should never have been built

By Patty Durand  |  On July 31,  Georgia Power’s Plant Vogtle’s Unit 3 entered commercial operation after 14 years of construction, and Unit 4 is expected to be completed no later than March of 2024. Plant Vogtle is the only nuclear power plant under construction in the United States.

Duluth Fall Festival is Saturday, Sunday

The 40th annual Duluth Fall Festival lis just around the corner on Saturday, Sept. 30, and Sunday, Oct. 1. There will be hundreds of displays of arts , crafts , holiday items, food, outdoor events, sponsor booths and more with many exciting new vendors. Entertainment on two stages is set, along with the parade, opening ceremony and road race.

Take advantage of the FREE shuttle service Saturday and Sunday from these area schools: Duluth Middle on Pleasant Hill Road, Chattahoochee Elementary on Albion Farm Road or Mason Elementary on Bunten Road. Ride in comfort to and from the festival, and don’t worry about parking at all!
