FOCUS: GACS raises $30 million, surpassing “Path Forward” goal

By Margie Asef | Greater Atlanta Christian School has announced that it surpassed its $29.7 million capital campaign goal — raising a total of $30 million.

Titled “The Path Forward,” the campaign is the largest in GACS’ 48-year history.

We heard it again on the island at the beach, when planting trees on an impossibly green mountaintop, and while teaching English in a sixth-grade classroom in a local elementary school.

Beautifully maintained and passionately promoted, the City of Norcross is a community where anyone could imagine themselves happy, healthy and thriving. Those are the same feelings that Sustainable Norcross, the local nonprofit hosting the market, hopes to extend to the Norcross Community Market opening on June 4.

During the Bush administration we suffered the 911 Attack. As the result we attacked Iraq, destroyed the Iraqi Army, essentially killed Saddam Hussein, and destroyed the balance of power in the Mid-East.

By Catherine Brack, Washington D.C. | As a resident of our nation’s capitol for more than 18 years, I have been to the Clinton, Bush and Obama White Houses, experienced 9/11 in a way that was far too close for comfort, cheered a visit by the pope, and witnessed an earthquake, hurricanes and tornadoes. I also have shoveled more snow than I ever thought possible.
