Steele

Jim Steele

The former chief operating officer of the Gwinnett County Public Schools, Jim Steele, died June 21 in Toccoa at the age of 73 from the maladies of prostate cancer. At his own request, there will be no funeral, because, as he stated: “Funerals were too sad and morbid.” His body will be cremated and his ashes will be scattered on a new road he had just seen finished on his farm in Toccoa.

Jaclyn White

Jaclyn Weldon White, age 73, of Hoschton, died June 19, 2021. Jackie was born in Chattanooga, Tenn.; she was the daughter of John (Jack) and Evelyn Weldon. Jackie became a mother in 1974 to her daughter Caroline. In 1984 she married Carl Dean White Sr. and inherited three more children, Shannon, Dean and Kim. Jackie had seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Hill Jordan

Hilliard Rhodes Jordan, Jr., 74, best known as “Hill,” passed away at his home in Skylake on June 18, 2021.  As in life, his death marks a milestone in the lives of those who knew and loved him.
