CLUE: Dear Readers: our popular Mystery Photo feature needs a few more photographs to keep each of you on the alert. Think back to your recent vacations and send us one of your interesting photographs and we’ll eventually get it in a coming issue.

The Mystery Photo for today is obviously an older building. But what element of the photo signals to you where it may be located? Once you determine that, send your answer to elliott@brack.net and be sure to include your hometown.

What we thought would be an easy Mystery Photo stumped lots of people. The photo was sent in by Otis Jones of Lawrenceville, and was a recent picture of the Hancock County Courthouse in Sparta, that burned in August, 2014. Michael Green of Milton was the first with the right answer.

Several readers thought that the photo was of the Dungeness ruins on Cumberland Island.

Others getting the right answer included William Emmett Clower of Snellville; Kelly King Herndon of Gainesville; and Logan Duke of Atlanta. Ms. Herndon wrote: “I am pretty certain the photo is of the old courthouse in Sparta, which is in Hancock County. The massive shell of the building is so intriguing. According to Frances Avrett who is from that area, the original structure dated back to the 1700s, and the current burned shell to the 1800s.”
